Recent press releases have been reporting that 29 out of 30 patients with moderate to severe COVID-19 recovered within 5 days of receiving a new experimental treatment called Exo-CD24. This is a medication that is currently being studied for use in Ovarian Cancer. We first discuss what this therapy is. Interestingly, it is an inhaled therapy with the thought being that it directly targets the main organ affected, that of the lungs. We illustrate how this medication may work, including what an exosome is and what the role of CD24 is in autoimmune disease, cancer, and inflammation.
