Many people are convinced that Easter is a pagan holiday, named after the pagan goddess "Eostre." Unfortunately for them, the only reference to such a goddess comes from a monk named "Bede." Bede claimed, in the eight century AD, that the word "Easter" was derived from an ancient goddess. Yet sources prior to Bede never mention this goddess.
