Britney rebelled at one point, this is why they used the media against her, and anyone who goes against the official system. Just like the stories that get pulled by a newspaper because they are too ''dangerous'', just like journalists who write them, that get sacked or worse, for trying to do some high-end investigative journalism. That should answer some questions you may have about WHY we do not see these kind of stories in the media.
