Spasticus Autisticus was written and released in 1981 by Ian Dury and the Blockheads as a protest song against the International year of the disabled person, which Dury considered to be patronising.
Ian Dury himself was disabled after contracting Polio as a youth. Fed up with being asked to get involved with charitable causes. He wrote an anti-charity lyric.
