For example rent control leads to housing shortages and plummeting quality since there is no incentive for developers to make new apartments or homes, and no reason to upkeep the ones that are capped in returns. The result is more people without housing. But see you can’t point that out without being labeled “racist” or “Uncle Tom” and so idiotic policies are being implemented with little resistance.
