In 2012, Dr. Fouchier, created a controversy. His lab had created a mutant version of H5N1 sparking a debate about the use of “gain of function” testing. The move caused a federal ban on the creation of such dangerous pathogens. The ban was eventually lifted. Why? Well, I have my guesses. Then, in 2015, scientists created a “chimera Corona virus.” They attached a Corona virus from bats to the backbone of of the SARS virus, thus allowing that Corona Virus to infect mammals. So, when considering “the where” COVID_19 came from, it’s important to remember that it wasn’t just a small number of government labs that were creating these dangers for “gain of function” testing.
