The fire on the territory of the Novoshakhtinsky oil refinery in the Rostov region of Russia (the region borders on Ukraine) started as a result of a drone attack, the Governor of the region Vasily Golubev wrote on his Telegram channel.

Fragments of unmanned aerial vehicles were found on the territory of the refinery, the governor said.
The fire spread over an area of 50 square meters and was completely liquidated. No one was hurt. All employees were evacuated.

The work of the plant was suspended. Investigative measures are being carried out to assess the damage.

Eyewitnesses posted a video of the drone attack on the oil refinery in the Rostov region.

The video captures the moment of the attack and the ensuing fire. According to unconfirmed reports, the video shows a Turkish-made Bayraktar UAV.

One of the drones was acting as a kamikaze drone. One of them crashed into a heat exchanger, which caused the fire to breakout. The second one flew away.
