Looking all around you you take in the scenes.
You breathe in a breath of air.
Only to smell the crisp clean pine trees around you.
Filling your mind with the bright times of the past.
Dreaming about the good times that might lie ahead.
This brings you up out of the darkness to see the beauty that is around you
Only for you to realize that the light was in front of you all along.
That you were just being strung along.
There's nothing but blue skies ahead and dark times in the past.
And times like these will never truly last.
The sound of the wind and the cold breeze brushing past your skin suddenly brings a paralyzing shadow over your mind
You just wasted all that time.
Living in the past knowing your soul was headed down a dark path.
Kept the light burning inside never letting the dream truly subside.
Even when the sun is sometimes blinding and turns the light into darkness.
Just until you shade your eyes.
Looking up only to realize.
That the darkness was just in your mind.
