Richard Spencer is President of The National Policy Institute (NPI) and Editor of Washington Summit Publishers, Radix Journal, and RadixJournal.com. He attended University of Virginia and University of Chicago and was a doctoral student at Duke University before dropping out to pursue a life of thought crime. Richard joins us for a discussion concerning the spirit of nationalism and the vision of NPI, an independent think-tank and publishing firm dedicated to the heritage, identity, and future of European people in the United States and around the world. We begin with a look at America’s different forms of libertarianism and classical European liberalism, along with the varied political identity structures spanning the left and center to the far right. Richard talks about the twisting route he took to get to a nationalist point of view, and relates how the nihilistic heart of America is ready for something beyond the capitalist puzzle of consumerism and monoculture eating away at its family values and spiritual connections. We also get into the specifics of what defines the conservatives and the neocons, and Richard puts the whole “cuckservative” phenomenon into perspective. Then, we talk about the collective rise of the social justice warrior and White guilt complex that has worked together in creating and an evil image of European consciousness. At the end, we consider the benefits of tension between traditionalism and a Faustian spirit and Richard gives details about the upcoming NPI conference, “Become Who We Are,” slated for October 2015 in Washington DC.
