Scenes from the Fake Refugee camp. There seems to have been two phases to this Fake Refugee Caravan as they arrived in Tijuana. In the first days, the leaders of the group arrived in air-conditioned buses with a few select "refugees". They worked with local activists in Tijuana and San Diego to organize a protest at the border fence. The crowd at the protest appeared to have more local people than would-be refugees.

In the second stage the bulk group arrived with consisted of more poor people with many children, who supposedly rode up part way on the train called "The Beast" and on buses.

There were about 150 people in this camp, they said that about the same number is in Hermosillo, Sonora waiting to come up, about 500 miles from Tijuana.

A Mexican federal policeman said that these on the sidewalk are Mexican citizens, who joined the caravan along the way. Those behind the fence are Central Americans, from Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador.

This camp is right next to the new pedestrian crossing on the west side of the San Ysidro port of entry.
