Vladimir Putin worked for the Soviet secret police as an active reservist embedded within Leningrad City Council. He was the KGB handler of Anatoly Sobchak: one of Russia's most prominent pro-democracy politicians. (Despite Gorbachev's reforms in the late 1980s the KGB continued to monitor, subvert and control leading political figures.) In August 1991, with the Soviet economy in meltdown, Boris Yeltsin (leader of the more radical reformers) seemingly did a deal with the Politburo: Communist "hard-liners" would stage a coup designed to bring down the Communist system thereby ending Gorbachev's failed reforms and, in return, Yeltsin would remain forever in debt to the KGB.

On 9 August 1999 an ailing President Yeltsin named Vladimir Putin (then assigned to the Kremlin) Prime Minister of Russia. Three weeks later a series of massive bombings rocked Moscow and other Russian cities. Chechen separatists were blamed and calls grew for Yeltsin to step down in favour of the tough-talking, increasingly popular Putin. (When people were seen placing sacks in the basement of a Moscow apartment-block (22 Sept) the building was evacuated and a massive police hunt began. The bomb squad disabled the timer and found the sacks filled with RDX explosive. The police hunt was then called off when the FSB (KGB) announced that its operatives had planted the "sacks of sugar" to test the vigilance of the public. Authorities later confirmed the FSB story and claimed that the bomb squad had misidentified sugar for RDX high explosive due to "contaminated equipment". After that, no further terrorist attacks took place.) Russian jets began bombing Grozny on 23 September and, the next day, Putin sent in the army initiating a second, much more devastating, Chechen War.

Yeltsin stepped down on 31 December 1999 and Putin took power. Putin's first decree as acting President was to grant Yeltsin immunity from criminal prosecution; his second was to scrap Russia's no-first-strike nuclear policy and nuclear weapons were integrated into every aspect of the war-fighting doctrine.

The "New American Century" began on 11 September 2001 with a massive terrorist attack on the US mainland. The US/UK "War on terror" opened up Central Asian gas fields and restored the petrodollar to Iraq. NATO expansion into Poland spread to the Baltic States — countries which border Russia and host significant Russian-speaking minorities — leaving Russia's western Kaliningrad enclave completely encircled (formerly Germany's eastern Konigsberg enclave cut off by the "Polish Corridor" after WWI: a situation that led to WWII). Israel invaded Lebanon in 2006 and waged war on Gaza. NATO attacked Libya in 2011, Pakistan and Yemen were bombed, sanctions were imposed upon Iran and a CIA proxy war was launched to bring down the Syrian regime.

Russia's independent businessmen were charged with corruption and arrested while many others fled the country leaving their companies to be plundered by Putin and his inner circle (Putin's personal fortune is now estimated at $200bn: including his $1bn "Putin's Palace" on the coast of the Black Sea). Elections were rigged, independent media was shut down and secret-police terror was unleashed upon journalists, political opponents and dissidents seeking refuge overseas. Georgia was invaded in 2008, the Crimea was annexed in 2014 and Russian troops were sent to fight Western-backed forces in the Ukraine and Syria while the military conducted vast war games along NATO's new frontier. Putin allied with China and assembled an international coalition while waging a covert war to weaken the West....

Once described by born-again media mogul Rupert Murdoch as "a fucking idiot" Donald Trump was actually duped by a Gorbachev look-alike who visited Trump Tower in the 1980s. Claiming to have written The Art of the Deal, Trump is, is fact, only "semiliterate" and his co-writer Tony Schwartz insists that he barely contributed to the book and probably never even read it. A self-promoting "dirty" real estate tycoon with an inherited fortune Trump attained to celebrity status via his reality TV show The Apprentice (a fame which he claims allows him to "grab women by the pussy" with impunity). Like many Americans Trump is driven by a strong sense of self interest, racial prejudice and a keen enjoyment of sports nurtured by endless hours of cable TV. An illiterate, hyperzionist TV clown who feeds off ignorance and hatred. After a media circus of sensationalism and lies designed to discredit Hillary and normalize Trump — enhanced by a Russian-WikiLeaks campaign of information warfare — America went to the polls and openly voted for murder: "Kill Their Families!"

With millions dead, the Middle East in chaos and superpower tensions rising, Israel's American supporters now seek a showdown with Sino-Russian-backed Iran and Trump claims to be the man for the job. Greeted with rapturous applause at pre-election AIPAC in 2016, a doomsday deal was clearly done.
