Former US President Donald Trump took aim at Chief Medical Advisor to President Biden Anthony Fauci for his response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and demanded China pay reparations for the crisis, speaking in Grenville on Saturday.

Addressing North Carolina Republican Party State Convention, Trump said Fauci was, "a nice guy, he is a great promoter, you know, not a great doctor but he is a hell of a promoter," but stated, "He has been wrong on almost every issue and he was wrong on Wuhan and the lab, he was very wrong."

"Fauci has never been more wrong than when he denied the virus and where it came from," said Trump adding, "The time has come for America and the world to demand reparations and accountability form the Communist Party of China, we should all declare within one unified voice that China must pay, they must pay."

On the subject of the US Presidential elections Trump said US President JoeBiden’s victory "was by far the most corrupt election in the history of our country" stating, "it was the third world country election like we have never seen before."

A US intelligence report released in May said three scientists from the Wuhan Institute of Virology became sick in November 2019, seeking hospital care shortly before the first reported cases of the novel coronavirus. China has denied the laboratory workers had fallen ill.

The revelation has fuelled new speculations about the theory that the virus could have come from the laboratory rather than having a natural origin.

The Biden administration responded by requesting the US intelligence community to issue a report on the possible origins of the virus within the next 90 days.
