Opinion: What do Chinese immigrants think about the U.S. riots?
“The Chinese Cultural Revolution has come to America”

0:00 The U.S. riots were initiated in the name of anti-racism, and perhaps Western society and mainstream media find much controversy in the discussion. Yet within the Chinese immigrant community, there is not much discord.
0:29 A number of readers contributed articles to Chinese newspapers, commenting on the harm their families had suffered because of the riots. She stated: " Who will protect for the small shops and ordinary citizens affected? And who could hear the voices of black people who don't agree with the violence?"
1:23 When Chinese learned of things like statues of historical and cultural significance being pulled down, censorship of movies such as "Gone with the Wind," etc., they felt it was devoid of basic reason and logic.
2:35 In traditional Chinese culture, kneeling is considered a very serious act. According to Chinese tradition, "A man's knees are golden,” his head can be broken and blood can be shed, and he should never kneel easily.
3:41 There are also Chinese scholars who believe that the current US riots are a repeat of the Cultural Revolution initiated by the Chinese Communist Party.
