Horrific video footage shows the moment a man was slashed repeatedly with a machete while his sister screams for help. The victim was set upon by an armed gang while standing outside the Everydayz shop in the Vauxhall district of Liverpool at around 6.15pm Thursday 10/01/2019. The mobile phone clip shows the man lying helpless on the ground while a balaclava-clad attacker repeatedly thrusts the weapon at his back. A woman can be heard pleading for them to stop and shouts "Call the police, call the police" during the brief but brutal attack.
The man is wearing a red top which appears to be slashed open from neck to waist. The name Stephen can be heard being shouted as the attackers flee the scene.
Three men, armed with what was described as a machete and a baseball bat, escaped the scene in a small van along Vauxhall Road out of the city.
The man suffered stab wounds to his leg and his back and his sister suffered a minor injury to her arm. They were both taken to hospital where his condition is described as stable an his sister also received treatment.
