Ukraine received HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) from Washington, Ukrainian Defence Minister Aleksei Reznikov wrote on Twitter.

“It will be a hot summer for the Russian occupiers, and it will be the last summer for some of them," Reznikov wrote. He also expressed gratitude to Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin for his cooperation.

It was earlier reported that the Pentagon was considering an opportunity to send four additional MLRS to Ukraine. The question has not been resolved yet. An unnamed official said that additional MLRS could be supplied to Ukraine in the next aid package. The United States is already sending four mobile HIMARS and precision-guided munitions to Ukraine. The systems are capable of striking targets at distances of up to 80 kilometers away.

The US Department of Defense published a report on military assistance provided to Ukraine. Since US President Joe Biden took office, Washington has allocated about $6.3 billion to Kyiv, with $5.6 billion provided after February 24, 2022, when Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the start of the special military operation in Ukraine.
