Two Firefighters Killed While Battling Massive Library Fire in Porterville California

Two firefighters were killed while trying to fight a massive fire at Porterville Library in Central California.

Firefighters responded to the scene around 4:15pm on Tuesday of an explosive fire at the library. At the time of the fire the library was open to the public.

Additional fire departments came to the scene to help fight the fire. The Porterville Firefighter department confirmed there were no sprinklers in the library.

“Prayers for the Porterville City Fire Department. They have lost two brave men in a library fire this evening. The city of Porterville mourns their loss and we as a community grieve with them and their families. God bless them all.”

At this time the cause of the fire remains unknown and continues to be under investigation.
