In a world where the news is controlled by relatively few, and the risk of censorship on social media has never felt greater, a person questioning the world’s response to the Coronavirus can very easily feel very alone.

Add to that the UK Government’s proposals in the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Court Bill to further curtail even the most basic right to protest and it’s easy to become overwhelmed and feel disempowered.

This is why, now perhaps more than ever, events such as the Worldwide Rally for Freedom are so significant.

Back in March 2021 there was the first of these events: a day when people came together to stand up for their rights — not in just one country, but across the world.

If we still listen to the mainstream media just a couple of hundred gathered in London on 29 March. But if we were there, or saw any of the few images that made it to the newspapers, we know there were thousands upon thousands.

This Saturday sees the second of these global efforts to demonstrate together, defend our rights, and send a powerful message to governments across the world, with over 15 locations taking part across the UK!

Join me at 17:30 when I’ll be discussing the importance of protests for us and for future generations.
