Tornado Kills At Least 19 in Tennessee

A deadly tornado in Nashville and central Tennessee killed at least 19 people as it touched down just shortly after midnight on Tuesday.

The tornado warning for Davidson County which includes Nashville went off at approximately 12:35 am which gave resident only 6 minutes of warning time before the tornado touched down at 12:41 am.

The tornado caused damage all across central Tennessee, leaving 50,000 businesses and homes without power, killing at least 19 people and injuring many others. First Responders are out in the trenches trying to find those that are missing.

A violent storm that came through Tennessee is what caused the tornado and that same system is expected to bring dangerous weather all the way from Texas to North Carolina

Tennessee Governor Bill Lee has reached out to the White House for Assistance.

“It is heartbreaking. We have had loss of life all across the state. Four different counties, as of this morning, had confirmed fatalities.”

According to the Nashville Fire Department at least 48 structures have collapsed and the storm knocked out windows and downed power lines. Streets are covered in debris

The deadly tornado has impacted voting across Tennessee which is one of the 14 Super Tuesday states. Nashville polling sites will open and hour late and fewer than 10 percent have been moved.
