Gun control" is vague and misses the point. Who is to be disarmend? Civilians or non-civilians? Civilians. And so it is more precisely civilian disarmament.
The purpose of an armed population is to act as active resistance against laws people don't agree with. It encourages legal autonomy and self-determination, and weakens the ability of government agencies to enforce a uniformity of law and taxation.
People who oppose an armed population also tend to oppose secession. Whether or not this is calculated tyranny or knee-jerk reactions to how they've been conditioned to respond to various issues and to hate rural whites, is not important the effect is the same: zombie-like, brain-dead irredentism
